why this exists
we wanted softer rooms.
most of the dating internet is built around faces. it teaches us very fast to swipe past whole humans on the strength of a half-lit photograph. we got tired of the way that felt — both as the swiper and the swiped.
so we built soulmate around a different premise. that the opening signal of a relationship should be how someone thinks, not how they look. that values, ideologies, prompts, and passions are denser data than any picture.
the matching engine is text-only. we don't run any face-attractiveness signal. we never will. photos exist in private storage and unlock only after two souls vibe with each other.
inside, you'll find rooms — small communities that form on their own around shared values. wanderers, stewards, builders, seekers. it turns out a lot of beautiful people were always nearby. we just had the wrong lighting.
welcome. we're glad you're here.
